âTHE LEAGUEâ REUNION WITH CREATORS & CAST,
SHOWTIMEâS âCITY ON A HILLâ ADDS CREATIVES & CAST,
HULUâS âVERONICA MARSâ ANNOUNCES PANELISTS
ATX Television Festival continues to announce major programming for season eight, which will take place June 6-9, 2019, in Austin, Texas.
Season 8 will feature a reunion of FXâs semi-improvised comedy, âThe League,â which centers on a group of old friends in a fantasy football league who care deeply about one another â so deeply that they use every opportunity to make each otherâs lives miserable. The panel will include creators/directors/executive producers Jeff Schaffer and Jackie Marcus Schaffer, as well as stars Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, Stephen Rannazzisi, and Jason Mantzoukas. The reunion marks ten years since the series premiere.
The SHOWTIMEÂŽ new one-hour drama series, âCity on a Hill,â which is the festivalâs Closing Night screening on June 8, will feature a Q&A panel conversation with executive producer/showrunner Tom Fontana, creator/executive producer Chuck MacLean, executive producer Jennifer Todd, co-executive producer/star Kevin Bacon, and cast members Aldis Hodge, Mark OâBrien, and Jill Hennessy. Set in early â90s Boston, where racism is endemic and crime is widespread, the series follows an unlikely â and obligatory â alliance between renowned FBI agent Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon) and Assistant District Attorney Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge). âCity on a Hillâ will premiere Sunday, June 16 at 9 PM ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
ATXâs previously announced panel for Huluâs upcoming âVeronica Marsâ revival will include creator/executive producer Rob Thomas, and stars Enrico Colantoni and Jason Dohring, who also starred in the original series. About ATX Television Festival
ATXâs focus is the celebration of the television medium â looking back at its history, where it is now, and where it is headed. Our weekend consists of events in which attendees can interact with actors, writers, directors, creators, showrunners, music supervisors, casting directors and studio executives involved in all stages of bringing their favorite shows to the small screen. We have all the functionality of a traditional film festival â spotlighting classic shows, never-aired pilots, cancelled too soon series, cult favorites, current hits and premieres of new series. In addition, we feature episode screenings with Q&As with the cast and creators, panels focused on industry related topics, and parties, live music, meet-ups, social media events and âsuper-secret happy hours.â ATXâs goal is to serve both the community and industry professionals equally, by giving them the opportunity to discuss and celebrate all aspects of TV.
ATXâs podcast The TV Campfire features one-on-one conversations with some of TVâs top creatives, and panel conversations recorded live at the festival. All episodes can be found on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and atvxp.com/podcasts.
